Social Security Fact or Myth?

Have you heard this one?

"Why don't federal officials like U.S. Congressmen and Senators pay Social Security taxes on their salaries? And what about the President and the Vice-President? They don't pay into Social Security either!"

    iam 63 an on ss disb my husband will be 66 this year can i get half of his ss?

    You can apply for wife's benefits now but they will be reduced because you are under age 66 and you will only qualify if they are higher than your own Social Security retirement payment.
